  1. Chapter 0ne – A Quiet Riot: The Information Divide and the Cultural Revolution

Let’s start with this quote => We are an Always on Society. Boom => someone said it. I think we all know this to be true, but are avoiding the conversation with others, because in some way we recognize that it also means we are losing…. something… and in many instances… we are not exactly sure what. That last statement was the sociologist inner voice, but the business inner voice says > how do we harness this?

I appreciate the approach Mr. Solis has on technology’s impact on society. Something that has been very common for us to do when we see or have new tech introduced, is to think of how life will be with it, assuming that everything else will stay the same. This happened with all of the 20th century conveniences => washing machines, refrigerator, etc…. We were going to have more leisure time on our hands, which is true -> but no one thought about what would fill the void. And more importantly, that what filled the void => changed our behaviors.

But….. back to business => the quote:

Attention is distracted and there is very little that you can do to reverse the evolution of the human psyche. Instead, you can steer experiences to your benefit by becoming the focal point or creating one.

Would be the main thang to wrap my business mind around! ;~D
